While heat pump based hydronic heating is our specialty, there are hydronic heating applications that require water temperatures above and beyond what most heat pump systems can produce. For these scenarios we offer high efficiency propane and natural gas boilers. Like their furnace counterparts these systems can be paired integrated with an air-to-water or geothermal heat pump to provide a reliable backup heat source when necessary.

Storage tank water heaters need to be reheated regularly while on standby to guarantee that the water they deliver is as hot as desired. This re-heating while on standby can add up to a substantial amount of energy over the course of a year. If your hot water use is very intermittent a tankless water heater might save more energy and money than even the most efficient heat pump water heater. Tankless water heaters are often referred to as “on-demand” water heaters as they will never require the additional time to re-heat a large cylinder of water like their storage tank counterparts. If you have a part-time residence or simply never want to worry about running out of hot water, then a tankless water heater is a natural first choice.
