Go electric

Maximize energy savings and enjoy year-round comfort when you upgrade to a heat pump system.

Heat pumps have been around for longer than most people realize (the first functional heat pump was built in 1857)! The operating principle of a heat pump is simple; in fact, it’s in the name. A heat pump simply moves heat from one place to another by pumping refrigerant through a loop. This process is referred to as the heat pump refrigeration cycle and consists of a series of stages where the system passively collects heat. This is a unique feature of heat pumps as most HVAC systems rely on converting energy stored in a fuel source into useful heat. This process only provides a faction of the energy stored in the fuel, by contrast, the heat pump cycle actually delivers more useful heat than the system consumes. During the 20th century, residential heat pump HVAC systems were only suitable for temperate climates. In the last 3 decades heat pumps have become a very effective option even in the coldest northern climates. Since the advent of the “mini-split”, converting a home with a fossil fuel system to an all electric heating and cooling system has become increasingly straightforward and cost effective year over year.
